I am Leann Herron, CLC, CHC, a full-time Certified Life and Health Coach and proud owner of Finding Resilience with Leann. Additionally, I'm also the creator and host of the Happiness On Tap podcast.
As a Health and Wellness Empowerment Coach, I empower clients to develop self-awareness, cultivate healthy habits, and build resilience, making them active participants in their wellness journey.

My journey into holistic wellness began with a focus on my health after experiencing non-treated PTSD symptoms from a trauma 20+ years earlier, triggered in my professional capacity in the legal field. Recognizing the limitations of conventional medicine, and frustrations from seeking guidance from my primary care physician from those limitations, I embarked on a path of self-discovery and education, learning about the importance of holistic approaches like nutrition and stress management. Through my own experiences, I discovered the incredible impact that mindset shifts, self-care practices, and how intentional living can have on one's overall well-being.
I hope my story provides hope and strength to remind others that we can weather any storm if we have the right support. I found the path, walked the walk, and came out stronger than ever. I have the map and I'm here to help you succeed.
In 2020 and 2021, I struggled with anxiety, panic attacks, and PTSD. My main difficulties included cognitive fog, memory lapses, increased anxiety, intrusive memories, negative changes in my thinking and mood, and changes in my physical and emotional reactions. At the same time, strict COVID-19 restrictions were in place, and many companies were shifting to remote work. Despite this, my request for accommodations to address my PTSD-related needs it was denied at my workplace.
I was plagued by doubts about my abilities, which led to persistent questions about whether I could fulfill important responsibilities. This mental fog significantly hindered my daily tasks, causing me to take twice as long to complete assignments due to frequent memory lapses. The trauma I experienced in late 2019 and 2020 triggered unresolved issues from a quarter-century earlier. Ultimately, recognizing my need for healing, I decided to resign and start a journey toward addressing and recovering from my deep-seated trauma.
As someone who is constantly seeking to improve myself and grow, I have been on a journey of self-discovery. I have done extensive research, established a meditation routine, and explored strategies to address negative thought patterns that fuel self-doubt, overwhelm, anxiety, and stress. Embracing relaxation techniques, finding solace in nature, and engaging in individual therapy and holistic wellness practices have been essential steps in my transformation.
After seeing the difficulties that my friends and colleagues faced in the corporate world — including health issues, rising healthcare costs, the impact of COVID-19, unexpected losses, increased stress, pervasive fear, loneliness, and toxic work environments — I felt the need to become certified as a life and health coach through the Health Coach Institute.
Transitioning into wellness coaching, I found joy in empowering others to take control of their well-being through lifestyle changes. Emphasizing the abundance of tools available beyond medication and talk therapy, I highlight the importance of recognizing stress as a manageable factor in overall health and urge individuals to challenge the normalization of chronic stress in society.

No matter where you are in life, a life coach can provide valuable support, guidance, and accountability to help you achieve your goals and live a more fulfilling life.
Unfortunately, health insurance typically does not cover life coaching. While many insurance providers cover services such as therapy, counseling, and psychiatric treatment, life coaching falls outside the scope of these covered treatments. Here’s why:
Different Purposes: Life coaching and therapy serve different purposes. Therapy is often used for treatment of mental health conditions, whereas life coaching focuses on personal development, goal-setting, and overcoming challenges. Life coaches help clients clarify values, set goals, and provide perspective on various aspects of life.

This is a big question. Although they both advise and assist individuals, there are significant differences between life coaches and therapists. A life coach looks at your present to help you create the future you desire, while a therapist looks at your past to help you manage your present. A life coach helps people get clarity on their goals and uses a mostly forward-looking approach to take action for the future using goal-setting activities and other personal development exercises. Oftentimes a therapist helps people deal with and process past trauma or difficulties, focusing mostly on the issues that have been a problem in the past.
“Stuckness” is the #1 reason that people hire a life coach. Stuckness, however, is not a generalized human condition!
When people hire a life coach, they are often looking for help with a very specific problem. While coaching can help a client find increased satisfaction across many areas of life, there’s usually a specific point of entry that kicks off the process.
